SANFORD M. "SANDY" COHEN

Sanford M. “Sandy” Cohen has 30 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. Having entered the business on the finance side he broadened his expertise over the years across the industry including retail and office leasing, investment sales, acquisitions, asset management, financing, development and redevelopment. Sandy founded Benna Victor Development, LLC in 2017 to focus his efforts in retail and mixed-use development. Prior to that he held positions as the President of Ingenuity Development LLC and Chief Operating Officer of Divaris Real Estate, Inc., the latter for 23 years. Prior to that he was the Chief Financial Officer of Goodman Segar Hogan, Inc. In each of these stints he oversaw the operations of a fully diversified commercial real estate company, each with leasing, property management, asset management, investment sales and development operations with portfolios in excess of 25,000,000 square feet. A native of Virginia, Sandy graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.S. in Commerce. He received his Certified Public Accounting designation in 1982 and spent 9 years at Price Waterhouse in their audit department specializing in financial institutions and public registrants. He has been a member of the ICSC for over 20 years and has been involved in many community associations, acting as a Board member for the Hampton Roads Economic Development Authority, Central Business District Association of Virginia Beach (as past president), Hampton Roads Association of Commercial Real Estate and Tidewater Community College Education Foundation.
